An important step in the inspection process is the "magnaflux" or magnetic particle inspection of all steel parts. In this photo our machine is being set up to inspect a crankshaft.




Another step of the inspection process is utilizing dye penetrant inspection to check for cracks. Here a crankcase half is undergoing the inspection process.




G&N uses multiple methods of detecting flaws on cast aluminum parts.  Above is an example of the heat check method.
